Welcome to our Spring Gardening Workshop Series

Our workshops and mini courses are designed for the beginner gardener and anyone needing a garden refresher. Owners Rich and Joelle will lead each class, bringing over 30 years of knowledge, experience and practical advice. Our small group atmosphere allows for personal interaction, so feel free to bring your questions!

What to Know: Workshops will be held under cover, but outside, so please dress accordingly. Workshops will be held rain or shine.  Handouts will be provided, but feel free to bring your own note taking supplies.

Cost: Workshop fees vary and some are FREE depending on the content and take aways.

How to Grow: Fruit Trees

Join us for this informative workshop focusing on fruit tree care and maintenance. Learn pointers on pruning for fruit production, pollination, pest management, harvesting and more. Farm tour and demonstrations included.

How to Grow: Backyard Berries

This seminar will focus on how to grow an assortment of berry plants in your own backyard, including strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries. We offer expert advice on growing, maintaining and harvesting, to ensure an abundant supply of berries year after year. Farm tour and demonstrations included.

Beginner’s Garden Mini Course #1:
Veggie Garden Prep & Planning

Saturday, March 7  |  12 pm

A successful garden starts before we even start planting… This mini course will focus on planning and prepping your garden, to ensure a bountiful harvest of delicious fruits and vegetables throughout the growing season. Topics include soil amendments, sun exposure, watering needs, garden design and more.

Beginner’s Garden Mini Course #2:
Seed Starting 101

Starting fruits and veggies from seeds doesn’t have to be difficult! Learn which varieties are best grown from seed, how to start seeds indoors vs. direct seeding, succession planting and best of all…how to ‘read a seed packet’ to ensure growing success!

Beginner’s Garden Mini Course #3:
Kitchen Garden Basics – What, When & Where?

This mini course will teach you all the basics for growing a well-rounded kitchen garden, including how to determine what to plant and when & where to plant it. These easy concepts will enable you to develop a garden plan that optimizes seasonality, succession planting, incorporating herbs and flowers along with your fruits & veggies and more!

Beginner’s Garden Mini Course #4:
Veggie Starts 101

Saturday, March 29  |  11 am

Let’s face it, some veggies are just better grown from starts… In this mini course, you will learn which plants fall into this category, how to select the best plant starts, how many to buy and how to divide and space them properly. When to plant is also key and we will teach you which plants can be planted early in the season and which to ‘hold off on’ for warmer weather.

How to Grow: Tomatoes

Tomatoes are some of the most rewarding veggies (fruits!) to grow…and the easiest…or are they?  We will go over the basics of growing tomatoes and some of the challenges of growing this delicious garden staple in our finicky climate. We will also discuss an array of varieties, including heirloom tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and saucing tomatoes.
